Block Prints

Block prints begin with creating a drawing from a photograph. After the drawing is completed, I transfer it to a linoleum block and carve the design using small blades. Then I ink the block, make a test print, and fine-tune the carving. Once it is finished, the block can be used to print a series of images. Since no two hand-pulled prints are exactly the same, each print is numbered and signed individually. All images are 4x6.

I have met all of the dogs in this series; they belong to neighbors and friends. :)
